GENERAL SUMMARY

The Trainee will assist solar Installation and Maintenance (I&M) Technicians on-the-site installation work and will involve with in-house training sessions as may be organised by the company.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Attend theoretical/practical training sessions organised within the company

•Fast pace training in operating variety of hand and power tools

•Assist the solar technicians on-the-site-job for servicing clients/customers

•Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment (electrical equipment inspections, module replacement, inverter unit, battery energy storage, charge controller, etc.)

•Maintain housekeeping standards and perform duties to include weed abatement and panel washing

•Comply with all site safety requirements and procedures. Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions as necessary

•Must be able and willing to work overtime which can be either scheduled or call-in as needed to respond to emergency needs of the site


HOUSEKEEPING STANDARDS SAFE

Safety is a core value of Suchnetcom Solar (SNCS) and as a condition of employment, all trainees including general employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. Additionally, employees/trainees are required to adhere to all safety warnings and posted safety signs whenever on company property. Furthermore, employees/trainees must follow all SNCS safety rules and procedures. Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each employee’s/trainee’s performance.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports directly to the Site Team Head (STH). The Site Team Head will establish work schedules and days/time for in-house training session. The STH also provides technical, safety, and procedural guidance to site technician and trainees. This is a Safety Sensitive position.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, stooping and lifting up to 30 kilogram load. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in the performance of some duties. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

Must be able and willing to work overtime which can be either scheduled or call-in as needed to respond to emergency needs of the site.

All employees will participate in the Fitness For Duty Program (FFDP). This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the work environment.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and to do basic mathematics; senior secondary school qualification or its technical equivalence is preferred

•Must be eager to learn and able to follow instructions

•Willingness to learn the electrical trade

•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

•Some industrial experience in operations and/or maintenance is preferred; solar experience desired, but not mandatory

•Mechanically inclined; ability to use basic hand tools

Solar Power System Project Engineer (SPSPE)

Job Location: Anambra State

Employment Type: Temporary contract


Job Description:

Responsible for the design, installation and complete execution of a solar power system/plant. Needs to co-ordinate with teams within the company such as procurement, electrical engineers, civil engineers and system installers. Starting with one project engineer per rooftop installation (minimum), the number could increase multiple times for large utility scale power projects. Reports back to The Manager Projects and Products.


Skills: Must have knowledge in PV Solar Power System, must have knowledge in electrical design concepts, Project Management skill, AutoCAD, Hommer solar software and MSWord. Must have good organizing abilities, good in prioritizing tasks and co-ordination, ability to correspond frequently via e-mail, record keeping in logbook and be self-disciplined.

Job Description

Responsible for assembling, installing, or maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. Must have ability to configure and evaluate various power system units until the commissioning of the project.
